Paying It Forward

After the first Burr and Burton reunion was held in 1866, alumni quickly rallied to support the school, making donations to help offset operating costs and ensure the long-term health of their high school. Since then, alumni have become the bedrock of Burr and Burton's Annual Giving Campaign, making gifts of all sizes to provide opportunity to the Bulldogs of today.

As an alum, you know the impact of incredible teachers, of challenging academics, supportive programs, and transformative experiences--all of which receive vital support from the Annual Fund for Burr and Burton. With your gift, you can honor the past and build a brighter future for every BBA student.

  • Give through a Donor Advised Fund

    As a qualified 501(c)(3), Burr and Burton Academy is eligible for grant support from donor-advised funds (DAFs). To recommend a gift from a DAF, contact your fund administrator with your gift recommendation; you may need to share our name and federal tax ID:

  • Make a Stock Gift

    Gifts of securities are an easy and tax efficient way to give.

    Please contact the Advancement Office at 802-549-8110 for stock transfer instructions and to notify us of the incoming gift.

    To ensure our ability to promptly acknowledge your gift, it is important to provide the name and address of the donor, type of securities, number of shares, and intended date of transfer.

  • Make a Wire Transfer

  • Matching Gifts

    Many employers offer matching gift programs to maximize the impact of charitable giving.

    If your gift is eligible for an employer match, please work with your employer's matching gift administrator to facilitate that additional gift. If you need any information from Burr and Burton, please contact the Advancement Office at 802-549-8201.

  • IRA Rollover

    If you are 70.5 years old or older, you can give up to $100,000 per year via an IRA rollover. These gifts count toward your minimum annual distribution and are not counted as taxable income.

    Simply contact your IRA administrator to discuss making a qualified charitable distribution to Burr and Burton.
